Our expedition with Archaeology Experts was the highlight of our honeymoon, we are already talking about going back for another expedition! Our luxurious private expedition was perfectly curated for us and we were able to see parts of Mexico most people only dream of. «We had so much fun with Dante and Eddy and we honestly felt by the end of our expedition we had made two new great friends» Our expedition started at Balankanche where we followed the same steps of the Mayans into the Altar of the Jaguar Priest. We felt so privileged to be able to see the religious offerings of the Mayans that had remained untouched for thousands of years. Upon exiting the cave, we were provided with cool towels and local beverages so we were fully refreshed for the next stop of our journey! Dante has so much knowledge of the cenote system and we were fascinated by the stories he told us on our way to relax in our own private cenote. One of our favorite memories as a newlywed couple was relaxing in the cenote together just listening to the nature surrounding us. It was truly a moment we will never forget! And if you want to go to Chichén Itzá, the best way to see it is with Archaeology Experts. Not only did we have the most knowledgeable guides with us, we also had the entire site to ourselves!! Having a private sunset of one of the the most visited archeological sites in the world was nothing short but magical. My husband and I agree that our dinner at the Hacienda is by far one of our favorite memories. We enjoyed authentic Mayan cuisine in a beautiful 17th century hacienda and were serenaded by a mariachi band. You definitely have to try the chaya!! While we did a lot of things during our honeymoon, our day with Archaeology Experts was the highlight of our trip.
